Inventor of Jelly Belly launches new CBD-infused jelly beans

CBD[1] is about to become a little sweeter.

David Klein, the creator of world famous sweets, Jelly Belly, is starting a new line of cannabis-infused jelly beans.

Spectrum Confections[2], Klein’s new company, will add cannabidiol (CBD) to 38 flavours of jelly bean, including Pina Colada, Strawberry Cheesecake, Mango and Toasted Marshmallow.

Speaking to Cannabis Aficionado[3], Klein detailed how he came up with the idea to use CBD in his confectionary after being made aware of the health benefits of the cannabinoid:

“Not a day goes by where not only do I eat candy in some form, but I think about new candy ideas.

“I said to myself, ‘is anybody doing a jelly bean with CBD?’ I could not find any.”

Klein went on to explain how his new CBD-infused sweets will be ideal for those seeking to get smaller doses of CBD than is offered by conventional oils, with each bean will contain 10mg of CBD.

“The jelly bean is perfect for the proper dosage [of CBD]. We are putting 10 ml in each [bean].

“If people want a small dose, they eat one. If they want 20 ml, they can eat two.

“They can decide what their proper dosage is.”

The CBD-jellies will come either sugar-free or coated in dextrose sugar to help mask the taste of the CBD, which can be quite off-putting to some.

CBD is fully legal in the UK, meaning we could be seeing Spectrum Confections hitting shelves in CBD shops across the UK in the near future!
