New measure seeks to fully legalize marijuana – Valley News Live
FARGO, N.D. (VALLEY NEWS LIVE)– Proponents of legalizing marijuana are working to pass a new measure to fully legalize the drug in North Dakota after measure three was turned down by voters in November.
The new measure, written by a Fargo attorney, aims to correct problems pointed out in measure three, in hopes that the people can come to a compromise, according to David Owen who is the chairman for Legalize ND.
Owen said the new measure is described as much more in depth and complete legalization would be far more regulated.
Unlike measure three, there is a full list of rules and penalties, according to Owen. For example, marijuana is not to be grown in homes and it must be child resistant.
Once the draft is finalized, sponsors will be given two weeks to vote on it.
