The flagship event of the UK cannabis calendar is fast approaching. Product Earth returns for its fourth installment, this time finding a welcome home at the National Agricultural Exhibition Centre in the aptly named town of Stoneleigh. This partnership comes as the UK CBD and hemp market goes from struggle to strength with the global green wave hitting British shores and not showing any signs of going away. If you haven’t bought a ticket yet… well… why not?
Headline sponsors this year include Humboldt Seeds, Blue Ridge Hemp, Attitude Seedbank, Ali Bongo, Pure Sativa, Dutch Snacks UK, Pot Valley Seeds, Spin Pro and Weed World.
Conferences, expos and festivals are a great chance to find out what’s going on in a bit of a snapshot. They can provide perspective and add nuance to the conversation that a quick glance and skim of articles written by journalists that don’t really know or care are unable to contribute.
A lot has changed since the first year Product Earth graced the UK cannabis scene. A number of new shows have emerged but none have quite captured the spirit of the cannabis industry that has been fighting away in blighty Britain for the past 20+ years.
Seminar zone speakers taking to the stage over the two days range form activists to industry professionals and experts. There are a number of panel discussions as well, which are always packed out at Product Earth with its strong ties to the grassroots campaigners, who are largely responsible for helping change come about in Britain.
This year the show has grown into several shows, adding in The Hydroponic Expo adjacent for the hydroponic industry, which remains hugely reserved about being seen anywhere near the culture to which it sells most of its products.
UKCSC will of course be exhibiting again and giving those attending a chance to get their hands on the second issue of The Quarter Leaf and offering guidance to those starting the journey of setting up a club or community group local to them.
British Hemp Association will be there to speak to those interested in getting active with the hemp campaign in Britain. After seeing Hempen forced by the Home Office to mow their field down like an overgrown lawn, many have been inspired to become more active in the campaign work that’s needed.
Camping has been a attractive feature for Product Earth Festival goers. Due to some last minute changes and issues with previous venues, camping had to be dropped, but it is with great pleasure that the team behind this one-of-a-kind weekend is proud to be bringing it back.
“Camping brings a whole extra level of atmosphere to an exciting event such as Product Earth,” said James Walton, Director of Product Earth Expo. “We listened to the people and had to bring it back. We have the glamping tents again, which add another layer of comfort for those who want to make things more interesting.”
Music has always been a big feature of the festival. It’s not just about bringing all the cannabis businesses together in the UK to sell their products, it’s a celebration of the cannabis culture; and music and cannabis go hand-in-hand. Not only do artists use it for inspiration but the music they create also inspires. It’s almost automatic to start relaxing when you hear the intro to Morcheeba’s The Big Calm, with its iconic chillout feel having become a strong favourite to multiple generations of tokers. Hearing that they had been booked to headline this year made our hairs stand up!
Artists joining Morcheeba will be Kabaka Pyramid, Horseman & Uppercut Band, Alfa Sacey & Afrik Bawantu, DJ Cheeba (AV Show), and Snazzback. Reggae Roast will be returning to take over with Rodney P & Skitz, Magical, Dj Sarah Love, Chester P, Vibration Lab & Clifford Jr.
