Cannabis expos, ghost tours, and educational events are on tap for those seeking 420-friendly happenings in the province this October.

Where: Barcelona Tavern (Upstairs), 501 8th Avenue SW, Calgary

GreenSpark, formerly known as Canexions, wants to bring together everyone from canna-enthusiasts to ambitious entrepreneurs to help the “budding industry flourish in Alberta.” Food is free, but business cards are not, so don’t forget to bring them!

Jay Ingram, the delightful and brainy former host of’s science talk show explains everything to do with cannabis and how it interacts with the body, at this free event!

A one day crash course in becoming the envy of all your pot-connoisseur friends, the workshop is open to everyone from “citizen scientist” dabblers to those serious about advancing in the industry.

When: October 11, 3 p.m.-8 p.m. and October 12, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. (Hempfest Cup: 7 p.m.-9 p.m.)

It’s the great, big, cannabis social event of the year! Need we say more? Score deals, swag up the wazoo and face-to-face access to vendors like IncrediGROW, Dank Gas Medicinals, Wolf Grinders, and a whole lot more. HempFest Cannabis Cup judging is scheduled for Saturday night.
