Darts legend Bobby George calls for ‘lifesaving’ cannabis to be legalised.
Darts legend Bobby George has called for “lifesaving” cannabis to be legalised, saying the drug is a “proper bit of kit”.
The King of Bling, who has taken to wearing promotional messages on his shirts, says tax from sales could fund school education.
The 73-year-old said: “It saves lives. It doesn’t make you violent.
“It tells your body to calm down. Medically it’s a very good drug.
“If you can’t sleep or you’ve got a bad back it can do you a lot of good.
“I promote it. I wear a T-shirt with Gone to Pot on it.
“They could legalise it, tax you on it and then put the revenue into schools.”
Bobby joined the debate after trying weed on the Gone To Pot TV show in the US to try to find a remedy for back pain.
He added: “It’s good for people with seizures and ladies with breast cancer, and if you have a bad back it can help take the pain away.
“I thought it was a proper bit of kit.”
The revelation comes as Bobby questioned the BDO moving the World Darts Championships from its home of 33 years at Lakeside, Surrey, to the O2 in Greenwich, south east London.
He said: “They’ve moved now and I don’t know if they’ll get the crowds there.”
