Pot roast and 'wavy gravy' — Thanksgiving dinner with a kick – The Times
For decades the traditional Thanksgiving menu has stayed the same: roast turkey, green beans and the questionable combination of sweet potatoes and marshmallows. This year there is something even more controversial on the table: cannabis-infused gravy.
An increasing number of Americans are adding a hit of weed to the national holiday, with recipes for “pumpkin pot pie”, “stoner stuffing” and “wavy gravy”.
With cannabis legal in 11 US states, the merging of the all-American celebration and the burgeoning pot industry was perhaps inevitable. “How legal weed turned Thanksgiving into a high holiday,” ran a headline in The Washington Post.
A company in California, where recreational cannabis use was legalised in 2016, recently released a gravy “to take your Thanksgiving dinner to a higher level”.
