State’s largest cannabis trade group hosts networking event Wednesday –

EDITOR’S NOTE: On March 10, NJ Cannabis Insider hosts its first semi-annual, daylong industry conference, featuring leaders in the medical marijuana, hemp and legal cannabis industries. Tickets are now on sale.

While the Garden State’s cannabis community mobilizes around the possibility of legalization later this year, there’s still plenty of work to get done on the ground floor, say industry insiders.

“This is our year. This is the year where ending cannabis prohibition is now in our hands. This is the year where each of us will be part of making a historic change and help right the wrongs of the past,” said Scott Rudder, president of the New Jersey CannaBusiness Association, the state’s largest trade group.

To help entrepreneurs and others in the space connect, the NJCBA is hosting a business networking get together Wednesday night at the bar Villa Borguese III (VB3), 475 Washington Ave. in Jersey City. Tickets are $45. For more information, call (609) 257-8902.

Rudder will go over what the the latest news is on the ballot question and what to expect as we head towards November, when voters will get to decide if adult-use cannabis should be legal. There’ll be plenty of questions to discuss, he said, including: What will the campaign look like? Who will fund the opposition? Will presidential politics play a role?

The New Jersey CannaBusiness Association promotes jobs and growth in a sustainable and responsible cannabis industry in the Garden State. NJ Cannabis Insider is a media sponsor of this week’s networking event.

NJ Cannabis Insider is a weekly subscriber-based newsletter produced by NJ Advance Media, which also publishes, The Star-Ledger and other affiliated papers.
