Harvest Cup, annual Massachusetts marijuana event, to be held virtually this fall – MassLive.com
Undeterred by the inability to hold an in-person event this fall, cannabis connoisseurs still plan to crown the top Massachusetts marijuana products in a dozen categories as part of the yearly Harvest Cup.
The Harvest Cup will accept submissions from Sept. 21 through Oct. 2 and plans to hand out honors for the best entries in the following categories: Indica-dominant flower, Sativa-dominant flower, CBD flower and extract, CBD edibles, CBD topicals and transdermals, beverages, concentrates, tinctures and capsules, topicals and transdermals, sweet edibles, savory edibles, and syrups, sauces and condiments.
Part competition, part expo and trade show, the Harvest Cup is typically held at the DCU Center in Worcester and attracts thousands of marijuana aficionados. This year the in-person event has been canceled due to COVID-19, but organizers are planning a November virtual event to announce the winners.
The first Harvest Cup was held in November 2017, one year after Massachusetts voters legalized marijuana use and possession, to give Massachusetts growers a chance to show off their skills and to introduce the newly-legal cannabis community to the general public. The contest aims to discern the best marijuana products in Massachusetts.
Harvest Cup organizers are hoping to return to the DCU Center for another large-scale and in-person edition of the event Nov. 13 and 14, 2021.
