Seth Rogen launched a weed brand, and the Website Instantly crashed

The title combines the brand’s two chief products:”House” products including ceramic ashtrays and lighters, and marijuana (plant) strains curated by both Pineapple Express authors.

“If you know anything about me at all, it is probably that I actually love marijuana,” Rogen said in a  video announcing the brand’s launch. “However, what you probably don’t know about me is that I have been working on my own weed company for the last ten years.”

Goldberg and Rogen analyzed”hundreds” of strains, per Houseplant’s press release, before settling for the launching. Rogen’s personal go-to strain is Pancake Ice, a 33 percent THC sativa he smokes”all day.” Houseplant additionally made vinyl mixtapes that contrasts with every strain kind.

Rogen’s statement went viral enough to crash Houseplant’s site on Monday, though the site is currently up with just a logo.

Restorative justice are also part of Houseplant’s assignment, because the criminalization of cannabis disproportionately affects low-income communities of colour. In the press release, Rogen said that beginning a cannabis brand comes with a”commitment to changing the unjust and racist cannabis legislation that exist in the modern society.” The brand will operate with criminal justice and drug policy reform organizations, Houseplant told Quick Company, and offers financing to Marijuana Policy Project, Cage Free Cannabis, Cannabis Amnesty, and NORML. Houseplant also plans to create a mentorship program for undeserved entrepreneurs in cannabis, Quick Business reported.

“We understand our responsibility to help right those wrongs and so are devoted to producing a more diverse, equitable cannabis industry,” Rogen added.

Houseplant is going to be available to purchase California directly from its site next week. Beginning March 11, Californians will have the ability to purchase Houseplant’s three strains and home great, including the vinyl box set, a tabletop lighter, along with a ceramic ashtray.
