With legal weed market to open soon, N.J. cannabis industry buzzing ahead of big networking event Feb. 17 – NJ.com
The state hasn’t yet opened New Jersey’s legal cannabis marketplace, but it has been awarding operating permits as well as accepting more applications to grow and sell.
Set up last year to provide the rules and regulations for the industry to operate under, the state’s Cannabis Regulatory Commission has been working toward opening the adult, general consumer market by February 2022. We may know more this week after the CRC’s upcoming public meeting on Jan. 27.
Meanwhile, cannabis operators big and small are preparing for the historic day. To that end, on Feb. 17, NJ Cannabis Insider is hosting its first business networking event of the year from 6 to 10 p.m. at Zeppelin Hall Beer Garden, 88 Liberty View Drive in Jersey City. Tickets may be purchased here. Capacity is limited.
The four-hour networking session will include a 30-minute panel, “real estate, cultivation and equity,” featuring:
- Chirali Patel, an attorney and founder of education platform Blaze Responsibly
- Darrin Chandler Jr., a recent license applicant, a real estate consultant and president of Premium Genetics
- Sarah Trent, an attorney, founder of NJ Cannabis Certified and recent provisional awardee for a dispensary license with her company Valley Wellness.
It will be preceded with a special one-one-on conversation with the founder of Cova Software, Gary Cohen who will discuss how his Denver-based company has helped launch nearly 2,000 dispensaries across North America.
